On a night where faith and community came together in harmony, TLC Hifth Academy hosted its Nasheed event, Laylatul Farha – “The Night of Happiness,” which took place on the 30th of August 2025 at Bergvliet High School here in Cape Town. Branded as Cape Town’s Premier Nasheed Collaboration Experience, the event was not just a showcase of uplifting voices but also a meaningful gathering dedicated to raising funds for the academy’s Umrah trip later this year.
A Celebration of Faith Through Melodies

The evening was beautifully guided by MC Nizaam Abdul, a former educator at TLC, whose presence added a heartfelt sense of continuity and pride. His warm energy set the tone for a night filled with devotion and joy.
Adding to the significance of the evening, Yusuf Salie, Director of TLC College, addressed the audience with inspiring words about the academy’s vision. He reminded everyone of the importance of nurturing young learners both spiritually and academically. “We want to say Shukran, so much for playing the direct part, in these 22 aspiring hufaths journey, every penny you have spent is another that puts in for them towards the holy land....,” he said.
Stellar Performances
The highlight of Laylatul Farha was undoubtedly the line-up of powerful Nasheed groups who captivated the audience one after the other.

TLC Primary School – The youngest voices of the evening, the learners of TLC Primary School, delivered a heartwarming performance that drew loud applause. Their innocence and enthusiasm brought smiles across the hall, reminding everyone that the love of faith begins from an early age.

TLC Alumni - A group of former students and educators who once walked the halls of TLC Hifth Academy and TLC High School, the Alumni’s performance was nothing short of brilliant. Their harmony reflected both experience and passion, moving the crowd with every note.

Quloob Un Nur – Delivering a performance that was both spiritual and entertaining, Quloob Un Nur lit up the stage with their energy and talent. Their set was a reminder of why they remain a fan-favourite across Cape Town’s Nasheed scene.

Sautur-Rayhaan – With their angelic voices, they gave one of the evening’s most memorable performances. The group also unveiled their brand-new drum, adding a refreshing depth to their sound. Their performance left the crowd eager to see more, and with the MC encouraged everyone to check out their latest YouTube video.

An-Nur Education – Recently crowned winners of this year’s Fusion Nasheed Competition, An-Nur lived up to their reputation. Their polished performance showcased why they are emerging as one of the most promising Nasheed groups in the country.

Quwwatul Islam – Known for their strong and soulful voices, this group impressed the audience with an excellent performance. Their delivery was smooth, heartfelt, and filled with harmony, making their set another highlight of the night.

Khuddamul-Islam – Saving the best for last, Khuddamul-Islam closed the event with a breathtaking finale. Their performance quite literally “blew everyone’s socks off,” ending Laylatul Farha on a soaring high. Their energy, talent, and stage presence were breathtaking, leaving the audience in awe.
More Than Just Entertainment

While the evening was filled with dazzling performances, its deeper purpose was never forgotten. The event was designed to raise funds for TLC Hifth Academy’s students who will, Insha’Allah, embark on the sacred journey of Umrah later this year in November. The generosity shown by families, alumni, and community members was a testament to the value placed on nurturing the spiritual growth of young learners.
One attendee captured the spirit of the night perfectly, saying: “Laylatul Farha wasn’t just about nasheed, it was about unity, love for Allah, and investing in the next generation. It reminded us how beautiful it is when the community comes together for a greater purpose.”
Why Nights Like These Matter
In today’s fast-paced world, events like Laylatul Farha carry deep importance for communities in Cape Town and beyond. They create spaces where families can come together, where young people are reminded of the richness of their faith, and where the collective spirit of giving and caring is kept alive. In a time when many communities face challenges of disconnection or struggle, such gatherings are more than evenings of entertainment; they are affirmations of identity, tradition, and resilience.
For TLC Hifth Academy, Laylatul Farha was a resounding success both spiritually, socially, and musically. From the moving words of educators to the outstanding performances of Cape Town’s finest Nasheed groups, it was truly a “Night of Happiness” that will be remembered for years to come.
